The Realization Hits

All the lies revealed,
Your trust is taken away.
No more future plans to hold,
No more words to say.

The dreams you had now ending,
Watching your hope now disappear.
Everything now means nothing,
A pain no one should bear.

Feeling horribly dead inside,
Your heart turning to stone.
Can’t bear to think of the future,
Now that you’ll be facing it alone.

Your faith shifts into blame,
What was love dissolves to hate.
Feeling completely lost in this world,
Now seeing this is your fate.

Any hope of happiness fading,
Reality begins to set in.
Despair is all you have now,
You’ll never love again.

Thank you for the comments this poem was written years ago while ending a more than ten year break up. This poem was very real and was written from my heart. It was only one of two poems that i sat down and wrote the exacts words that came to my mind, the other being just two nights ago.
