Shoot For The Sky

by Robert Dale Rayner, Jr.
(Mechanicsville, VA USA 23111)

Shoot for the sky
Pride for your living right,
Nights that fit right,
A sight that might make your life.
When your heart's as high as the sky
And your hands aren't tied
There's no more reason to cry.

Why lie
When you have the best thing by your side
A love that could never die,
Stick to her side
And life will be more than fine.

If I could have you the rest of my life
I'll make sure I'm with you every night,
And make sure there's never a fight
So get ready for a life.
So tell me if you're ready tonight?

I don't think you vote on your own poem
by: Lane

But it does get you 5 stars. Shoot for the sky is cool but that other killing junk is totally scary.

Thanks
by: robert rayner

Thanks. Well, I wrote this when I felt s**t faced and felt like there was nothing I could do about her to get her back and my heart poured out on the table on that poem. I actually don't know how to write poetry. I taught myself. I use to write stuff like going in for the kill -- going in for the throat, waiting for that bastard to choke, going in for the kill

Good poem. Full or deep heartfelt emotion. Hope she is ready.
