Mistress Alcohol

I can't believe I've allowed this to be
That bitch alcohol has taken something else from me,
The woman I love and thought would always be there
It seems for me no longer cares.

She says she's tired and will share me no more
With my Mistress Alcohol, the worthless whore,
I'm so very sad and she I will truly miss,
But I guess I always knew it would come to this.

Even though without a doubt,
My mistress will rot your soul from the inside out.
My crazy mind is damaged and weak
For my mistress' company it shall always seek.

I wish I could stop the madness and turn back time
Back to the day she first became mine,
Back when there were still feelings of passion and lust
Back before this relationship started to rust.

I can't believe that the ax has fell,
She's taken my soul and left me an empty shell.

I liked your poem so much that I had to respond back with one of my own. I know first-hand how hard it is to be in love with an alcoholic. All I can do is play the cards I'm dealt, and I don't play for fun, I play to win! You must think the grass is greener on the other side, but yours can be just as green, if you just take time to water it.

Somebody got some talent here. Well written poem. I think you are the one who also wrote 'Time For a Change'. Think you might need to reread that one and drop kick that bitch mistress to the curb. Try your hand at some on the lighter side. Sorry but this particular journey is a tough one. Keep them coming, these are some of the best this site has to offer. Just one man's humble opinion.

We all have choices to make. You must decide what is most important to you and will bring you long-term happiness; the love of a good woman or a deceitful, trouble-making bitch.

Alcohol will strip you of everything good and meaningful in your life if you let it. Good luck on making the right choice. Try to make it without the help of your Mistress. I really liked your poem and plan to pass it on to someone I know.
