SO WHAT?

So, today is your birthday
Big deal, no one cares,
Just another wrinkle on your face
Some more gray in your hair.

Your cake has become a blaze
Of more candles than can be counted,
Celebrating this day does amaze
As your age is unsurmounted.

And yeah, we know you’re not alone
In the infamous race against age,
Youth is fleeting we've all been shown
But we shouldn’t give up the chase.

This day only comes to rub it in
The number of years long passed,
We shouldn’t take it on the chin
But rather kick its brass.

And if it’s all the same to you
We prefer not to admit,
That you’re the youngest of this group
A truth prohibited.

So,we’ll have an exclusive party
We’ll be the only ones who go,
No one else will be invited
And no one there will be old.
